Venue
The main venue of the conference will be the Aula Magna in the Rectorate building of the Polytechnic University of Tirana, "Mother Teresa" square, Tirana.
The main building of the Polytechnic University of Tirana was designed in 1938 by Italian architect Gherardo Bosio and completed in 1942. Originally conceived as the Casa del Fascio, it served as a key administrative and representative building of the Fascist period in Albania.
Located at the end of the city's main boulevard, the building forms the focal point of a monumental urban composition. Its architecture is defined by the interplay between a dominant tower and a lower horizontal volume, creating a strong civic presence in the heart of Tirana.
At the center of the building, the Aula Magna, the main ceremonial hall, will host the central sessions of ALMA 2026 – Architecture and Landscapes of Modernity in Albania, an international conference dedicated to 20th-century architectural heritage.
We recommend booking accommodation in the city center, which is convenient both for the conference venue and for enjoying the city.
